Which case do you actually need?

Case is not decoration — different conventions carry meaning in different contexts, and mixing them up makes text look wrong even when the words are correct:

Converting between programming styles

When you move an identifier from one language to another, the words have to be split out and rejoined. This converter finds word boundaries in `getUserName`, `get_user_name`, `GetUserName` and `get-user-name` alike, so you can translate freely between them. Watch out for two things:

Chinese amount in uppercase (大写金额)

The second box on this page converts a number into the Chinese financial uppercase form used on invoices (发票), cheques (支票), receipts (收据) and contracts:

The rules come from Chinese banking practice:

Practically, always write the digits and the uppercase words side by side on a cheque and make sure the two agree — when they disagree, banks treat the uppercase wording as authoritative.

Both conversions happen in your browser as you type. Nothing is uploaded, so customer names, amounts and internal text stay on your machine.

FAQ

How do I write an amount in Chinese uppercase for a cheque or invoice?

Type the amount in the second box and use the result. For example 1234.56 becomes 壹仟贰佰叁拾肆元伍角陆分, 1000 becomes 壹仟元整, and 10.05 becomes 壹拾元零伍分. On a cheque, write the digits and the uppercase words side by side and make sure they match — banks treat the uppercase wording as authoritative when the two disagree.

When should I use "整" and when "零"?

Use 整 when the amount ends exactly at 元 or 角 (壹仟元整, 伍角整); if there are 分, no 整 is written after it. Use 零 to fill a gap where a unit position is empty — 壹仟零壹元, 壹元零伍分. The converter applies both rules for you.

Why is 壹贰叁 used instead of 一二三 in financial documents?

Because plain numerals are trivial to alter: 一 becomes 二 or 十 with one extra stroke, and a 0 can be turned into a 6 or an 8. The capital forms 壹贰叁肆伍陆柒捌玖拾佰仟 have far more strokes and are standardised, so an altered amount is obvious on inspection.

How does the converter split words for camelCase, snake_case and kebab-case?

It detects boundaries at spaces, punctuation, hyphens, underscores and the transition from a lowercase letter to an uppercase one — the same rule IDEs use. Runs of capitals such as HTML are treated as one word. Check the output for unusual acronyms and adjust by hand if needed.
